SHIP SHAPE TV HOST JOHN GREVISKIS & CREW HIT CALIFORNIA
SHOW #1120 FEATURED COASTLINE, HISTORIC SIGHTS & NAPA VALLEY... SHOW AIRED OCTOBER 7-13, 2006...DETAILS BELOW...
 10/15/2006

America’s most popular TV boating host, John Greviskis, Producer Joe Naples and the Ship Shape TV Production Crew spent a week filming on-location in California August 28 to September 3, 2006.

Ship Shape TV Episode #1120 (which aired October 7-13, 2006) prominently featured the beautiful California coastline and scenic Napa Valley.

By viewer request this season, Mr. Greviskis has been packing up his production team and heading to viewers’ home ports to film Ship Shape University, a segment in which the host teaches operational techniques to boaters. While in California, John Greviskis taught proper anchoring techniques, using a Danforth-style anchor for the very tricky silt, rock and strong currents so typically found in San Francisco Bay.

The Ship Shape TV Production Crew also filmed a series of commercials.

Ship Shape TV is now seen on Comcast SportsNet West, as well as Fox Sports Net Florida, Fox Sports Net South, Fox Sports Net New York, Fox Sports Net New England, Fox Sports Net Ohio, Fox Sports Net Detroit, Comcast SportsNet Chicago, Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic and Sun Sports.

BEHIND THE SCENES WITH THE SHIP SHAPE TV PRODUCTION CREW
  PERKO COMMERCIAL SHOOT
SHIP SHAPE TV BOAT SHOP, INDIANTOWN, FLORIDA  6/7/2006

John Greviskis refers to his Ship Shape TV Production Crew as “the best TV crew in the business” ...with good reason. Along with the excellent show episodes they pump out week after week, these guys put together awesome commercials for Ship Shape TV clients.

So, we thought we’d give you an inside look at a recent commercial shoot for Perko, Inc., well-known manufacturer of quality marine lights, hardware and accessories (SEE PHOTOS ABOVE).

After “firming up” shoot arrival times and reviewing the day’s plans with Perko, Inc. Director of Creative Services Richard Cozier, Ship Shape TV Producer Joe Naples headed for the Ship Shape TV office and editing studio at American Custom Yachts in Stuart, Florida, for a quick strategy session with Chief Editor/Videographer Dewey Engstrom.

Next stop for Joe was the Ship Shape TV Boat Shop in Indiantown, Florida, where the crew had prepared the set for Videographer Bruce Barton to “get the shots” under Joe’s direction.

For Producer Joe Naples, the aim was to capture the special qualities of the Perko product he was highlighting.

He sums up the process this way:

“Perko is another one of our many great advertisers here on Ship Shape TV. It’s pretty exciting when you team up both company’s creative teams and produce a commercial that’s sure to be a hit! From conception to completion, commercial production is not only fun, but also very rewarding.”

GMC Canyon Helps Boating Show Sail Smoothly

If you’re looking for tips on repairing or maintaining your boat, tune in Ship Shape TV — an informative 30-minute program, airing Saturday mornings on many Fox Sports Network channels and various cable networks across the nation.

In an upcoming episode, host and originator John Greviskis offers valuable boating, maintenance, and operational techniques with the assistance of a blue 4WD Canyon Crew Cab.

“We’ve been using GMC trucks such as the Canyon — both on camera and off — for many years,” says Joe Naples, the show’s producer. “The trucks haul everything from boats and cargo trailers to studio equipment and everything in between — they do a terrific job,” he says.

Now in its 11th season, Ship Shape TV offers viewers a boatload of advice on topics ranging from repair, maintenance and accessories to anchoring and docking.
“The show is becoming increasingly popular,” adds Naples, who says the program boasts approximately 10 million faithful viewers. “Plus, we’ve enjoyed a great relationship with GMC through the years” and look forward to many more!

SHIP SHAPE TV CREW IN BALTIMORE...
SHIP SHAPE “U” SEGMENT FEATURES BALTIMORE INNER HARBOUR
 5/22/2006

Ship Shape TV Host John Greviskis and his production crew filmed an important Ship Shape University segment in beautiful Baltimore Inner Harbour recently, in response to a viewer request.

Pamela Ayd filled out a VIEWER SURVEY on the Ship Shape TV website (www.shipshapetv.com), asking John to please instruct her on what she should do in the event of an emergency while boating with her family. Pamela has an eight year old daughter and was particularly concerned about keeping her safe in such a situation.

John’s answer to Pamela’s request was simple: HE PACKED UP THE SHIP SHAPE PRODUCTION CREW AND HEADED TO BALTIMORE INNER HARBOUR to film a Ship Shape University segment that would address Pamela’s concerns (and those of so many other viewers who have requested similar information).

In an effort to create as realistic a scenario as was possible, Ship Shape TV Producer Joe Naples contacted Baltimore authorities, who came through in a huge way. The shoot included a rescue helicopter, as well as emergency personnel and equipment. Thanks to the enthusiastic and generous cooperation of John Hopkins LifeLine air and ground units, the good people of Baltimore’s Inner Harbour and the great folks at MarineMax of Baltimore, the realistic scenario Joe envisioned came to life. Ship Shape TV videographers Bruce Barton and Alex Fuenmayor were able to capture the mock emergency scene as John Greviskis, along with his expert guests, took the Ayd family through the steps necessary to safely get a boat back to the dock in an emergency.

With the gorgeous Baltimore skyline as a backdrop, John, Ship Shape TV Project Director Bert Delle and the Ayd family were captured on camera during the entire learning process (SEE PHOTOS).

Many thanks to all of the participants who contributed to the success of this potentially life-saving Ship Shape University segment.

SHIP SHAPE “U” IN BALTIMORE INNER HARBOUR WAS FEATURED IN EPISODE 1116 OF SHIP SHAPE TV.

WHAT SHIP SHAPE TV VIEWERS ARE SAYING...
From across the USA, viewers are responding to our Viewer Survey*
 7/24/2006

"Great show, and John makes the show easy to watch."
Carmen Merighi, Boca Raton, Florida

"I always set my VCR for your show even when I am home to watch it. I find your show very informative. I own a 1987 Four Winns 215 Sundowner. Unfortunately, parts are not available for this boat over the counter. Your show helps me keep my boat in ship shape condition. I also think you have a winning combination with West Marine. They seem to have the right parts and knowledge. Another reason I like Ship Shape TV is because John knows how to ask the vast array of questions to inform about each item and the techniques used to complete the job."
Roman Dudus, Building Maintenance, Wales, Maine

"Thanks for a great show. You have increased my boating knowledge, made me more confident and saved me money. The only problem is that you make my boat 'to do' list longer because of your great ideas."
Gary Trott, Marketing Director, Eatonton, Georgia

"The show has been of great help to us in terms of picking products and refining our refurbishing techniques. Thanks! Great Show!"
Lynette Roy, Reading Consultant, Suffield, Connecticut

"I love the show and never try to miss it. I have told many of my boating friends."
Dan Gibb, Advertising Agency President, Franklin Tennessee

"John, I love the show! No-nonsense, straight to the point useful techniques. I do most of the work on my boat and love to see repairs and preventative maintenance techniques. Most of my boating friends call me crazy, but I love to tinker and clean on my boat. Thank you, John, for all the great shows and keep them coming!"
Marty Rueh, Logistics Analyst, Burlington, North Carolina

"Thanks for a great show. It is well worth watching."
Joseph McElroy, Aircraft Electrician, Hope Valley, Rhode Island

"I have used much of the info on the show to help restore my 1966 Starcraft Chieftain to better than new condition. Keep up the great job. Thank You."
Glenn Evans, Technician, Ganesvoort, New York

"We bought a Direct TV Tivo system and it recorded our first episode of Ship Shape TV randomly. Previously, we were not aware of the program. Now, we have it programmed to record every episode and my sons come down and watch it with us. The episodes we have watched have worked in great with the current remodeling we have been doing on the boat and we have ordered from the suppliers we have seen on the show. Thanks so much."
Alf "Windy" Skaflestad, Retiree, Hoonah, Alaska

"Very good show, I love watching it. Very useful info. Makes it easy to contact manufacturers. Gives confidence in working on my own boat."
Doug Rogers, Registered Nurse, Saugus, Massachusetts

"Keep up the good work. I will be interested to see what you pack in that giveaway boat."
J Douglas Brown, Auto/Diesel Technician, Westerville, Ohio

"Bumped into this show by accident and loved every second of it. Great information!"
Stephen Regan, Retired, Cedar Rapids, Iowa

"I have an older boat and am concerned that I need to help out my gel coat and preserve the look of my boat. I also have a problem with my cabin floor and would love tips on how to repair it. I only found your show about a year ago AND MAKE IT A POINT TO WATCH IT EVERY SATURDAY MORNING AT 10AM. KEEP UP THE GREAT JOB."
Kipp Whittemore, Office Furniture Sales/Installation, Coopersville, Michigan

"You gave me the confidence I needed to cut holes in my boat to install a windlass and remote steering controls. Thanks!"
Don Williams, Sales, North Little Rock, Arkansas

"I really enjoy the program. Keep up the good work."
Robert Patterson, Equipment Control Officer, Alton, New Hampshire

"Love you guys. We needed a show."
Troy Dionne, Sales, Annapolis, Maryland

"John is great at explaining topics. He gets across all the little details that are so important."
Gus Ferreyra, Consultant, Tampa, Florida

SHIP SHAPE TV AND VOLVO PENTA AT THE MIAMI BOAT SHOW
John Greviskis and Crew Wow Them at Volvo Penta Live Event
Biscayne Marriott Hotel, Miami, Florida  2/17/2006

This was no ordinary shoot. Journalists from all over the world were gathered to witness a LIVE demonstration of VOLVO PENTA's new, innovative marine technology...THE VOLVO PENTA JOYSTICK.

The PRESS CONFERENCE audience sat in the comfort of the Biscayne Marriott Hotel ballroom, viewing the demonstration onscreen. Ship Shape TV Host John Greviskis and Captain Wink Doerzbacher, aboard a boat, in the water outside the hotel, performed docking and navigational maneuvers, while explaining the workings of the new VOLVO PENTA JOYSTICK.

To facilitate this challenging live event, the Ship Shape TV Production Crew set up a suite of hotel rooms as its studio, from which Producer Joe Naples and Editor/Videographer Dewey Engstrom co-ordinated and managed live feeds from both locations.

The result was beyond impressive. Along with Joe Naples and Dewey Engstrom, the crew included Bruce Barton, Bert Delle, Todd Kern, Alex Fuenmayor, Mike Strickland and Engineer Jim Kiffmeyer. From start to finish, the VOLVO PENTA JOYSTICK LIVE PRESS EVENT was a complete success.

Anyone familiar with "the business" knows the perils and pitfalls involved in attempting to pull off a multi-faceted live event of this magnitude. It is the equivalent of a broadcast high-wire act...and, as usual, John Greviskis and the Ship Shape TV team performed brilliantly.
